We are seeking a full-time Quality Assurance person to join our Team!
The Quality Assurance person reports directly to the Head of Quality and is responsible for providing general supervision and support regarding any quality inquiries. This position is also responsible for the Quality Management System (QMS).
The Quality Assurance job will have the following Key Responsibilities:
- Draft quality assurance policies and procedures
- Maintenance of AS9100 Certifications and assessment interface with 3rd party Registrar
- Interpret and implement quality assurance standards
- Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards
- Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
- Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
- Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
- Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
- Collect and compile statistical quality data
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system
- Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities
- Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards
- Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
- Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Monitor risk management activities
- Responsible for document management systems
- Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
- Scan and review records trace for company access
- Maintain company server files regarding trace records
- Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with QMS procedures, work instructions and “Best Practices” throughout the facility
- Work with the Quality Department to assist with questions related to receiving and shipping of inventory
- Assist personnel with completion of vendor and customer quality surveys
- Ensure staff carry out quality inspections, as required
- Responsible for managing company approved vendor listings
- Any tasks assigned by Head of Quality
- Assist personnel and other department with Quality and Records Trace
- Approving vendor selections
- Lead Problem Solving events
- Report and improve all Quality-related KPI’s
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of professional experience in quality management; in the aerospace industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A comprehensive knowledge of AS 9100 requirements
- Experience with International and Aerospace Quality System Standards regulations, including planning and implementation is critical
- Proficient capability with MS Office, Visio and creating flow charts
- FAA A&P license preferred
- Through knowledge of Lean Six Sigma & DMAIC Methodology
- Associate degree in project management/Business administration or related field
